About Me
My Story as an Illustrator
Kaylan Baumann - The Weekend Artist
Self-taught illustrator and graphic designer from South Africa, specialising in character design, fan art and commission work.
My love for art began with anime, especially Dragon Ball Z. Those stories, characters and worlds inspired me to pick up a pencil and start drawing and creating.
Over the years, that passion has evolved into a career where I get to bring ideas, characters and worlds to life through illustration and design.
I continue to grow as an illustrator in South Africa, exploring new techniques, styles and creative projects
My Style
Bold, expressive and full of life.
I specialise in anime-inspired illustrations with strong linework, dynamic poses and vibrant colours that capture emotion and energy. I love experimenting with different styles while keeping character, personality and storytelling at the heart of my work.
My Goals
To create characters and visuals that inspire, entertain and leave a lasting impression.
Whether it’s a fan-favourite character, an original idea or a commission created specifically for someone, I want my artwork to become something people remember.
Lets Work Together
Have an idea you’d want bring to life? I would love to hear about it!
